Grab your snacks, because this one is a doozy! At the ESPYs, the legendary Iron Mike himself, a.k.a. the original chaos agent, got his world rocked when he discovered that the biggest baseball star right now, Shohei Ohtani—yes, the guy who's been smashing records—is, wait for it, a man. Can you even?!
Tyson, along with a certain YouTube boxer and DJ Khaled (yes, that DJ Khaled), was up on stage presenting the award for best single-game performance when he heard El Gallo—Ohtani’s catchy nickname—send his gratitude and appreciation for winning. That’s when it happened. Our faves heavyweight champ’s jaw practically hit the floor, and he was caught on a hot mic asking if Shohei really was a guy! "Shohei's a guy?" he exclaimed, looking for confirmation from his fellow presenter. Jake Paul gave him a nod, and let’s just say, you could practically hear the audience's collective gasp.
Let’s be real, though; we aren’t saying Mike has to catch every baseball game, but you’d think he might’ve caught a whiff of Ohtani’s legendary status. After all, the dude hit three home runs and struck out ten batters in Game 4 of the 2025 NLCS—news that should’ve reached Tyson's ears by now, right? Apparently, he missed that memo. But hey, it’s never too late to learn something new… right, Mike?
This entire situation is just too rich and only proves that in the chaotic world of sports, there’s always someone ready to pull a fast one. Keep those ears perked, because the drama never sleeps!
