In a move that barely qualifies as surprising, this one jumped on stage at his own stag do. Yep, it’s Matty Healy, the king of self-importance and frontman of The 1975. Apparently, he couldn’t resist crashing the performance of his own tribute band while they belted out The Sound — because what’s a celebration without a little Matty showboating?
In case you’ve been living under a rock, our fav showman is gearing up to marry Gabbriette Bechtel this weekend. They announced their engagement just last year after a whirlwind nine-month romance (basically an eternity in Hollywood). Rumor has it they were going for a low-key wedding, but surprise, surprise, it’s spiraling into a lavish affair at one of Tinseltown’s most iconic spots.
Sources whisper they’re eyeing either the Chateau Marmont or Madonna’s place (no big deal, right?). And let’s not forget that Matty might want to clean up his act — insiders claim Gabbriette has conjured up an Old Hollywood-inspired dress code for the big day. Good luck with that, buddy.
As for the guest list, expect his bandmates, Charli XCX and Nick Grimshaw, to be there to witness the spectacle. Meanwhile, his parents landed in the U.S. last week to deal with the inevitable wedding chaos (because we all know how smoothly these things go). Honestly, this entire situation is a portrait of organized chaos, just how we like it.
