Looks like the Queen Bey has decided to drop a surprise new song on us after a two-year, yawn-inducing hiatus. Yep, you guessed it—Beyoncé blessed our ears with Morning Dew (Donk) over the Fourth of July weekend. Cue the Beyhive losing its collective mind. 🙄 This is her first release since the critically acclaimed Cowboy Carter album in 2024, which we can only assume was just Beyoncé’s warm-up for this moment.
Written by Beyoncé, obviously, along with Pharrell, The-Dream, and Darius Dixon, the artwork shows her posing in a bikini on the beach. Because why not? Fans are already buzzing, with tweets like, '20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION OF B’DAY COMING?!?! IT’S ABOUT TO BE SO LOUD!!!!!!!' and 'WHAT AN AMAZING DAY IT IS BEYONCE DROPPED A NEW SONGGGGG' flooding social media—because we didn’t just witness this same enthusiasm two years ago.
And let’s not skip over the title Donk, which isn’t totally fresh. It recalls a supposedly leaked track from 2013 that didn’t make the cut for her self-titled album. How original. But hey, if they’re excited, good for them. This track is likely to dominate their playlists for the next few months. Stay tuned, I guess.
