Well, would you look at that? A certain someone just kicked off her first Breakfast Show, and listeners are allegedly losing their minds. Yes, it’s Sara Cox, the new queen of morning radio, stepping in after some serious drama involving her predecessor—who, spoiler alert, is not in the running anymore due to questionable accusations (yikes).
On her debut, it got star-studded with Hollywood's own Tom Hanks as her guest. Not too shabby, right? She kicked off the show asking for listeners’ attention, claiming she was feeling clingy—but can you blame her? Just after 6:30 a.m., she welcomed everyone with some very relatable nonsense. “It’s nice, isn’t it?” she asked, perhaps to convince herself.
She started strong with Lizzo's About Damn Time—because nothing screams fresh start like a catchy bop, right? Sara played it cool, casually dismissing any deep meanings in the music. Silly us! She even tossed in some Etta James to keep things classy. And for good measure, a congratulatory shout-out from Gary Barlow—because obviously, everyone loves a pop star with a side of morning radio sentiment. Sounds like our girl is already winning at the wake-up game.
So, will she be the next radio sensation? Who knows? But one thing's for sure: listeners are here for the drama and the vibes. Not exactly surprising, though.
