Suri Cruise is (Allegedly) Taking Shakespeare to Scotland (and It’s so Predictable)

Well, here we go again. A certain someone just snagged a role in a modern Shakespeare adaptation, and guess who it is? Suri Noelle, the daughter of the guy who’s definitely not Tom Cruise anymore, is making her grand entrance into the spotlight. Apparently, she’s ditching the family name faster than a bad first date and heading off to Scotland with a bunch of students from that fancy music school in Pittsburgh. How original, right?
The production is titled “Midsummer!” (because clearly, clever titles are out of style), and it’s some sort of remix of A Midsummer Night’s Dream that mashes together Appalachian folk, house beats, and a vibe that screams Pittsburgh industrial. What a thrilling collision of cultures. I can already hear the hipsters weeping tears of joy.
The iconic Edinburgh Festival Fringe kicks off next month, and it seems this show will run every day at 12:30 PM. Not too shabby—there are even a few stateside performances before they jet off, so circle the end of July on your calendars if you’re feeling nostalgic for high school drama.
Sure, Suri was once swaying toward a fashion degree (classic), but I suppose the acting gene is hard to shake off. And as for whether her estranged father will bother to show up and clap, well, I wouldn’t hold my breath. But I’m sure Katie will at least pretend to beam with pride. Break a leg, Suri (but, like, not literally)!
