Did Anne Hathaway Just Upstage Meryl Streep Again in Devil Wears Prada 2? (As If We Didn't See This Coming)

Well, well, well, look who’s back in the Devil Wears Prada universe. Yep, Anne Hathaway has returned to remind us all why we wanted to throw our bank accounts at overpriced shoes just to grab a latte. In the much-anticipated sequel, the icy queen, Meryl Streep, is apparently forced to rein in her diva antics — I mean, what’s fashion without a little drama?
Fast forward two decades (because clearly, we have nothing better to do), and it’s time to fill those Jimmy Choo shoes. The original cast is back at it: Meryl, Anne, Stanley Tucci, and Emily Blunt, serving all the shade you’d expect from a fashion brawl. But here’s the kicker — did it live up to the cult classic status? Well, rumor has it, not quite. The satire doesn’t hit the same; instead of skewering fashion, we’re now throwing shade at journalism and publishing, which is… interesting, I guess?
Miranda, forever fabulous, has a new husband (hello, Kenneth Branagh), still ruling Runway Magazine with her right-hand man, Nigel (Tucci, obviously). Meanwhile, Andy Sachs (Hathaway) is no longer just the assistant we rolled our eyes at — she’s now a veteran journalist. But don’t get too comfy; after a shocking text (seriously, who even does that?), she’s back for more chaos at Runway. And let’s not skip over the asterisk-worthy unauthorized biography in the works to spill all the excessive tea on Miranda. Also, brace yourselves for a character obviously based on Jeff Bezos making questionable moves for comedic effect.
So, if you’re up for a less scathing satire sprinkled with current memes (yep, you’ll find references to Ozempic and Uber), maybe this sequel is your cup of overpriced coffee. Will it be as unforgettable as the original? Only time and our relentless social feeds will tell, but don’t hold your breath.
